Length is in itself by no means a measure of quality. As demonstrated by this collection of 36 of the best short films entered in the 2004 DOTMOV digital film festival, exciting things can come in small packages too. DOTMOV is organized by Shift Japan and judged by a panel of guest creators that this year included The Designers Republic, Yoshi Sodeoka (CSOS), Jiro Ohashi (Sal Magazine), Motion Theory, Sugarcube, Diesel Virtual Department, and Form. This package records and pays tribute to this outstanding film festival. It includes two exclusive DVDs featuring 36 works chosen from 385 entries representing 33 countries worldwide, and a book wryly designed to look like a VHS tape that is simply full of in-depth information about the creators and their works. Featured films include Digitalsnapshot by Lo lacono, Moments by Armin Purkrabek, 2.5 Camouflage by Sayaka Maruyama, The Zoo by Zeitguised, We Still Got It by Johnny Kelly, and Sleepwalking by Hey Presto.
